Exterior shots the first few seasons show Rockford's home/office to be an old single-wide house trailer (maybe by that era the "mobile home" euphemism) rather than a travel trailer, located in an always empty parking lot at a beach. There were no utility hookups, those would be Hollywood magic (as would keeping a parking lot empty at an LA-area beach). The trailer location was later moved to the parking lot of the restaurant and pier at Paradise Cove.
Rewatching the series lately, I've come to appreciate how the studio sets for the trailer interior look so much roomier than any 8-wide house trailer I've been in. I had several schoolmates in '50s living in the trailer park at the end of the block, none had that much room to move around, and certainly not enough for a camera crew to back up enough to get it all framed.
I also like how Rockford drove a new Firebird Esprit every year through 1978, despite persistent financial problems. Because the editors tended to re-use footage from previous seasons, the model year of the Firebird would sometimes change in the middle of a chase scene. On the other hand, Rocky did not show up with a new truck without something in the script to explain why.
