So, don't say you will wait for them. Say, if it is still here when you arrive. Never agree to turn away another buyer unless you have a non-refundable deposit in hand. Note the use of the word "non-refundable."
I sell plenty of stuff to people that live close to Seattle. I am anywhere from 1-1.5 hours from them. I talk to the person and agree to hold the item until they get to me. If anyone contacts me I tell them once the person buys or doesn't I will call them either way.
There are Jack AZZES on both sides of this and I simply won't stoop to that level.
