My Motion Activated Alarm System

An inexpensive deterrent.I use this in my TT whenever I'm away for a while.

It's placed in a window near the door, inside the trailer. I removed the speaker from the unit & placed it further inside the trailer. I use a recording of a VERY MEAN dog barking.

It can be purchased here:

I am a firm believer of lighting up things after dark when needed. I have motion detectors on both the front and back sides of my off-road popup trailer. when selected these either make a clicking noise inside the trailer or turn on my outside lights. Looks like WALMART when all the lights come on...

I'm always interested what walks through our camp after we go to bed... Most of the time it is DEER. Have seen Fox and possible a cougar one time. Lots of Raccons one time as well camping at CAMP DORIS in OKLA.

One of my neighbor campers had a large dog bowl sitting under the patio awning with the name KILLER printer on it. He also had the end of an attached log chain laying next to it...

Motion detectors are a two-edged sword - if no one is there to check on the tripped motion detector doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort. Even if you get an forwarded message of some sort that the motion detectors have been tripped the time it would take you to get there to investigate would probably be to too late anyway.

AT home where we keep our two trailers in CAMP BACK YARD the whole back yard lights up when the motion detectors are tripped. Gets my attention real quick and my neighbors big dogs start barking...

My truck sitting in the driveway with all my Ham Radio Comms antennas and emergency looking things on it probably looks like an official tactical truck of some sort. That probably helps me the most...

I'm not much of a GUN PERSON but do have a couple of large cans of WASP SPRAY and a good AX handle by my trailer door when camping. Mostly for animal control... If the situation requires firearms than my trusty .410 short barrel scatter gun is readily available..

  • Around here a loud alarm would be enough to scare people off. Problem is it would just freak out my friends. I rarely even lock the doors.
  • Well, at least the post wasn't about locks, so Roy can't come along and tell you how fast a crook could get by them along with lots of puictures of break in tools...

Oh, I'm sorry. I can't come to the door right now. I'm afraid that in my weakened condition, I could take a nasty spill down the stairs and subject myself to further school absences. You can reach my parents at their places of business. Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your concern for my well-being. Have a nice day!

I see what you did there. Anyone else?...Anyone?

I'm watching him on Ovation channel right now:D.

  • Oh I am sorry that my motion activated alarm system, model 442,(4 feet--42 Teeth,)also known as a dog, bit you when you came inside un-annouced.

There seems to be a lot of blood, and I bet it hurts like heck.

Do you want to call the cops now?
