My over 13' rv went under a 13' clearance bridge

Can someone explain how they come up with the clearance signs. The last one I went through showed 13'0" on one of those yellow signs. Im in Ny and have a 38' rv. Now, I know for a fact to the top of ...

I use my Camping World laser height guidance app for Android interfaced to my IOS converter hotwired to my A459 dash unit that applies the brakes if the clearance is too low.

Not really I made that up.

We measured our unit with a tape measure. Mfg brochure specs for overall height were really close. Write that number in ' and " and also m on a piece of white card and stand it on the dash of the TV where I can look at it.
