Our Good Sam Chapter (Tennessee Valley Sams) makes and sells them with profits going to the Wounded Warrior Project. They are reasonably easy to make. Go to Loews or Home Depot and purchase a ten foot 2" PVC pipe, one 2" "T",one 2" cap, a post lantern, (about $20 - $25), and a cheap extension cord. Cut the PVC pipe in half and use the first 5' section as the bottom of the post. Attach the T fitting to the top. Then cut and place a one foot section of pipe in the top and another in the side fittings. Place the PVC pipe cap on the one foot arm and screw two hooks on the bottom, seven inches apart. Cut the female end of the extension cord off and hard wire it to the post light with the included wire nuts, and then mount it to the top of the post. Make sure you drill an exit hole for the wire somewhere on the bottom section of the post before mounting the light. Drive a 4 to 5 foot piece of steel pipe or re-bar into the ground and slip the post over it. Plug in the light and your set. The post can be spray pained any color you like, but you must first scuff the surface and prime it with a plastic spray primer.
If your planning on attending the Tennessee Samboree, we will have some there for sale.
