National and State Park Cabins

A friend is going to join us on a road trip, and wants to know about staying in those cabins offered by some state and National Parks Does anyone know what they generally have available. I know he will need a sleeping bag and pillows but what about things like cooking utensils?
Thanks,

  • Depends on the state. Generally all the information is provided on those sites.

    Thanks,

    Depends on the state.

I've rented and read about cabins in NYS. Generally, you need your own bedding and all cooking equipment. Not sure about the relatively new yurts though..I do know that coolers can be included in them.

As for the newest cabins in CT? You need your own bedding; cooking utensils, cooler, but not fireplace. Don't laugh; The other campsites in that state park in CT have nooo firepits. No idea what they were thinking back in the '20s/'30's.

Other cabins and lean-tos I've rented along the Appalachian Trail were pretty much the same as above through the states of..MD, PA, NJ and NY.

    HTH and have fun!
  • He needs to go online and reserve them. Oregon state parks have a variety of options. Some have yurts, others have rusric and/or deluxe cabins. Each offers different amenities from basic beds to gas grills, full bathrooms and even television and DVD player. In general, he will need food, food prep and eating utensils, necessary towels, tooth brush etc plus clothes.
