When I used to get some of these calls, I would have some fun with them also if I was in the mood and had spare time on my hands. My favorite was letting them do their thing for a minute or two (being very careful to never say "yes" or "ok" to anything) and then interrupt with the (insert interruption here)(sometimes it might be someone at the door, sometimes it might be the dog needing to go out, sometimes it might be the "kids" needing something) put the phone down for about a minute. When I come back, pick up the phone and apologize profusely and then say, now you were calling about the (insert random item here)(sometimes it might be the car, sometimes it might be my shoe, sometimes it might be a swing set, you get the idea). That gets them to start over. Then simply repeat as long as you can keep them on the line, changing interruption reason and item they are calling about each time. My personal record was over 30 minutes.
