Reading all of these posts, I've determined that are 3 groups of respondents. And yes, I know there are many gradations in between.
1) Those who cannot NOT answer a phone. I know some of these people and I still don't get it.
2) Those who wish to spend their precious time "playing" with these calls. Y'all apparently have WAY more time than I perceive that I have left. I'd rather spend mine out in nature, walking etc.
3) Those of us who would rather not bother wasting time dealing with unknown entities in ANY way.
To each their own.
I always answer the phone because it might be a friend or family member calling me in a emergency.
I don't have caller ID on my landline and I don't want to spend the extra money to get it.
But, as I said I hardly ever get sales calls. It probably helps that I rarely ever buy and sell things except at a store on on the internet.
On the other hand I get dozens of sales e-mails a day. Every few days I scan through my e-mail box, read any that are from people I know and then just hold Ctrl A and hit the thing for "Mark as Read" .
