When we bought our first camper, what seems so many years ago, it came with the purchase an old 7x7 post for the jack stand, as to eliminate the distance from the ground to Jack. I'm sure you get it.Anyhow, over the years it's deteriorated, and the time is now. I for the life of me can't find another square hunk of wood to accommodate.I use it now, not only to reduce the space the jack has to come down, but also to give me enough clearance in my driveway to level the camper for my fridge to run.Is there a nice commercial product you can point me to, or any other good ideas? I know i could layer 2x6's but would really just like a nice solid chunk of something.

We came across an old piece of 4x8 that came from an old boat dock, pretty beat up but it works. Tried some Lynx levels once since we did not have our block and they actually bent under the weight. Check a lumber yard or construction site for a nice piece of scrap wood.

Do any places still sell reclaimed wooden railway ties?

Those cones scare me off a bit. how much weight are you willing to put on that?

My dry tongue weight 1,173 lbs according to the manual, then with 2 batteries, and 6 gal of propane, i'm not sure.

What i would like, would be something the size of a leveling pad, but made of a really nice, solid, no slip, no flex material.

So, in addition to the weight of my tongue, i also literally max the jack full extent to get level in my driveway, with the slope there has to be some additional down force.

Seems manufacturing something out of scrap wood will be my best option?

Build your own.
I built one that is 10" x 10" x10" out of scrap 3/4" plywood with a center piece of 2" by stuff as a stiffner.

I also built four smaller ones for my stabilizers.

I spray paint them black every few years, and I have been asked many times where I bought them.

Find a millwork that does custom wood work. My neighbor works for Probuild here in Kansas City and they routinely fabricate custom house pieces from large cedar planks. He gave me several chunks of 8x8 cedar I use under my stabilizers. Cedar is lightweight and doesn't rot like most lumber.
