I have used the Prodigy P2 controller for quite a few years and it works flawlessly for me. A big advantage for you would be that it can easily be removed and used in another vehicle since it just plugs into it's holder. All you would need purchase for the 2nd vehicle is another wiring harness (and possibly another holder). Only need to purchase one controller for two or more vehicles.
I mounted mine in the cubbyhole in my dash and all you would need to do is drill a hole in the rear of yours to the wires could enter the unit. To change vehicles, just unplug the unit from one and plug it into the other.
