Since you have a GM TV...it has one of the best (unless they have
changed it) TV brake pedal switches out there
It senses brake pedal movement way before the pedal moves the MC piston
rod...therefore before any MC Piston PSI is EVER developed
What this does is to lead the trailer brakes...if you have the trailer
brake controller setup well
Most folks who complain about how bad P2's and P3's are...generally have
found that they do NOT have a good TV brake pedal switch and/or have
not setup their P2/P3 well
Mine senses the brake pedal movement and BEFORE any MC PSI is developed
That then turns on the trailer brakes at whatever preset you've dialed in
Then the built in accelerometer will take it from there
Meaning that once the trailer brakes engage...there is a DECELERATION
that the trailer brake controller will sense...and...continue to provide
power to the trailer brakes
All the while you can manipulate the TV brake pedal (modulate) keeping
the trailer brakes on...and...the TV brakes if you wish
One key attribute for good trailer braking is to have the trailer
brakes lead the TV's brakes
I can stop the whole setup without ever turning on the TV's brakes.
Not often...just while testing or in slow traffic.
I also touch and turn on only the trailer brakes to kill any potential
sway...while...NOT turning on the TV brakes, but give it bit of
throttle to straighten it out
Rarely have I had to reach and use the manual lever/button
