But to state the prodigy P2 or P3 is "bottom end of what is acceptable" is not a realistic description at all. I use a P2 in one of my tow vehicles, and in the other truck ( F350 ) I use the factory integrated brake controller. Both work well. With the prodigy, you do need to take the time to read the instructions, follow them for proper setup, and then you'll find the controller works excellent in all towing situations.
Not everybody wants to take the time to follow the correct setup procedures, so that can often lead to an unsatisfactory experience and a misleading conclusion.
