In TN, I have never noticed a huge amount of stink bugs. Don't see them much in California either. Maybe they are working their way down from the north?
OP, I'm not sure why you are scared of stink bugs, they don't bite or want to crawl on you.
The good thing, is they don't reproduce when inside a house or RV.
I googled them and the ideal prevention is winterizing the best that you can to keep them from coming inside. They emit an odor (not the stink odor) to attract other stink bugs that they have found a good winter place to hang-out.
