I would bet this simple indoor trap coupled with spraying the exterior using soap and water would reduce the invasion. But, insects are tenacious and arrive in such numbers that the battle to remove them can be long and trying.
We don't have them up here in MN in any great numbers but do have the Asian lady bug invaders and the domestic Box Elder bug. The latter can accumulate in big numbers on any South facing surface, invade the home, and are miserable to fight. A spray of soap and water will deter and kill them on contact but they have the numbers.
