Answering my own question. It's the gravity drain pick up that's causing all the trouble. I see that there are other more conventional pickups toward the front of the tank on the top. I'm going to just plug the gravity drain pick up. I don't really need it.
Can't wait to replace all the insulation again though. Good times. Lol
