Never saw it before !

About 15 years ago, a friend of mine had a dead 4x4 Toyota pickup (not sure what killed it). I was going to buy it from him, pull the engine, strip the drivetrain so it would stay in neutral at the transfer case, add a hitch, add a locking bed cap to the bed, create a storage compartment under the hood where the engine was (basically would be a trunk), and use the dead pickup as a storage trailer. However, the deal fell through on it... but it might have been an interesting project.

We towed a class A with our forklift (slightly lifting the front so it would steer easier) and a chain to our F250 in the rear to stop it. Was a very long 1/4 mile trip to the engine/chassis/body shop.

That is Ford's newest improvement after the Eco Boost! Flame suit on, Ha Ha!

Actually, several years ago, when my son was shopping for a fifth wheel, we saw one at Paul Evert's in CA that had dual wheels. I don't remember the brand, but it was a huge, heavy looking thing!

I did a google for dual wheel fifth wheel trailer, and found some pictures. sorry, the copy and paste didn't work very well.

You are right.
If they took the cab off they could have welded the frame right under and it would be a "dually fiver".

Maybe some manufacturer would take notice and start a new axle design.

Sadly, while the creativity is often apparent, the "CAN DO" attitude seems to be very rare these days.
"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" seems to be much more prevalent.
