While being friends with the host is nice to have, you need to remember that taking care of the place is their job! How can they know of a specific problem if they are not made aware of it? I don't think they will un-friend you just because you bring something to their attention.

I think the O.P. was referring to the dishwashing campers as those he might alienate by going to the host. He's probably right, if they figure out who turned them in.
I agree with those who say that the best approach is probably to assume that these folks just don't know any better...I'd probably just point out whatever the right way to do this chore is in that setting. I'd even lend 'em a couple of buckets if that's what it took to stay on friendly terms.
