Check before it's too late

You shourld actually be using a torque wrench to check and tighten the lug nuts.

No problem with mine. I'm good. I have a T wrench. Never used it!

Good catch. My 4 way does fit mine. And I do carry a torque wrench just in case I have to change a tire.

Now check the spare tire to see if the nuts are a different size.

And length as in the case of the bolts for the Alcoa wheels on our Sprinter chassis.

I had lug bolts (not nuts) come loose one time. The trailer "Broke loose" steering wise and slid off the road one side into the ditch (no damage) this alearted me to teh flopping tire so I tightened on the spot.. Wife was hollering about how fast I was driving (Safe speed)

Pulled in for gas and they told me of one who did not get a clue till it was too late.. Mell of a Hess as they say.

This was the PUP days.. What finally killed the PUP was old age. Canvas replacement would have cost more than the trailer was worth.

I use a breaker bar and socket, with a cheater pipe.

If you are going to carry a torque wrench, be sure you know how to use it (some, possibly many, people don't) and how to take care of it (again, many people don't) and when and where to get the calibration checked (a torque wrench that isn't accurate is no better than a 4 way lug wrench or a breaker bar).
