Never seen this one before

The bigger problem is that when folks wash their dishes, hair, teeth at one spigot, all that******is going in one place. When we volunteered at a national park, one of our duties was to dig out those spigot areas 1' deep and replace with new drainage material. You would not believe the goop in the previous material. Disgusting. The problem was, water was not draining properly and the areas were one big puddle constantly...and yet people washed their dishes in that mess.

Another time, in a different park that had the outside sinks with a sign above it "for washing dishes only". One guy emptied his porta potty into it and the same week a man, not a kid, got into the tub to take his bath!

To the OP, yes, you should have mentioned this to the host. That's what they're there for - to clue in some very inconsiderate campers! Believe me, we've seen it all, and more....

There should be a sign right there at the spigot that says no washing of dishes! Lots of idiots out there!

Last weekend our site was on the far end of the park right next to all the tent sites. We love this site for the secluded feel but the spigot for all of the tent sites to share is right out my large back window, and view of the river. I see all kinds of this stuff all the time, but last weekend there was this couple that kept coming up and using it for morning bathing, and brushing their teeth. They were very inconsiderate of others. I finally got pissed enough when I seen them spitting tooth paste all over the spigot without a care in the world. I went out and very UN-politely told them how disgusting that was that others had to use that thing, and I needed to get drinking water for my dog out of there. They looked at me like I was just just some rich prick in a big fancy 5th wheel, and they couldnt be further from the truth.

Oh this same group also had some drunken hippy running around in a camouflage kilt playing the same song over and over on a set of bagpipes for an hour at a time, and releiving himself in the trees beside the river. Yapping dogs, and screaming kids would have been a welcomed change.

I guess you have never poured a softdrink, coffee, or any other drink on the ground, never washed your car at home, or used your outside shower to rinse sand from your feet or rinsed the dog, even the kids? Point being, at one time or another, we ALL contribute to our share. So I ask, is it really the fact that he washed his dishes with a water hose or the fact that he invaded your space to do it?

I think the OP wanted to make friends with the people who were washing dishes, not the Ranger?
