New 4X4 vehicles for flat towing
Since getting the Axis we have been researching dinghies, specifically 4X4 under 4000#. Seems the only choice is a Wrangler which we don't want. To bad the manufacturers aren't making anything else. ...

GM's new midsize pickups have electronic 4x4. There must be a few different versions. The one with settings for 4L and N on the Transfer Case Knob can be flat towed. See Page 330. It's a routine, you probably need to have the manual or checklist, and it involves disconnecting the battery as well. Still, towable truck, probably a little over 4000 but hopefully not by much.
