- fred42ExplorerThey must be gearing up for one of those "you pay what we pay" commercials.
I always cringe when I hear those auto commercials. I envision those cheerful on camera employees going back to the assembly line job with a unhealthy attitude and making sure we get what we pay for. - Ron3rdExplorer III

That will effect my decision to shop at Camping World exactly not at all. I seriously doubt that will change the lives of the employees. Such policies usually come about because some employees abuse the system, such as using their employee discount to pass savings on to friends and family. The employees likely only have themselves to blame for the change.
x2, this is often the case. Many years ago I worked in the auto parts business and the owners got rid of the 10% over cost deal for employees for this very reason. Too many employees abused it.
I have noting against CW, I just have no reason to shop there. - wiskeyVIExplorerI used to really like to go into CW to eyeball stuff Had service and warranty work there a couple times. Always good experience.
We've been out of the RV thing for some years, and are thinking about getting back into it again.....With that, as CW has chosen to step into the political arena, I may not need to patronize them anymore....And to think they are to build a new facility here in a local town..
By alienating a certain group of folks from buying from you, it hurts everybody down the line with possible declining sales and increase service cost to make up for it. - RGar974417ExplorerI bought a lot from Camping World in the past. Then 2 things happened that changed my mind. First was we bought a new trailer From Camping World in Harrisburg,Pa. We were given a quote in writing. We put 10% down. We were told it would be in in 2 months. It turned out to be 4 months. When we went to pick it up, they told us it would be $5,000 more than the quote. I posted in Marcus' thread about our problems and never heard anything. The second thing was when he said he didn't want Trump voters as customers. Haven't bought anything since.
- WTP-GCExplorerWe go in CW from time to time...usually leave empty handed. But there is benefit to actually seeing and touching a product that you may have an interest in. It's also good to wander the store and see products that you didn't know existed. All the stores I've been in have a clearance section, and we've bought several things on clearance (yes, cheaper than Amazon). A few years back, I needed one new clip that holds the reefer vent/cover in place on the outside. I was driving past the store, so I stopped and bought a pack for a couple dollars. Could have ordered it on Amazon for a dime or two less...
- covered_wagonExplorerI used to go there all the time, but kept bringing back the things I bought. I finally found a place that sells pretty good quality and that's what I want. Haven't been back for 12 years or so.

They do have their use though.
Say you're on the road between here and nowhere, something breaks.
You can get it cheaper online but they have a Camping World a few miles down the road.
What do you do?
It's a hoot listening to some people.
They shop for the cheapest and demand excellent service for free.
there are also other dealerships just down the road. Lots more normal dealerships than there are CWs - TerryallanExplorer IIMarcus told me not to come back. So I haven't.
