NEW DOT Re-Cert Requirement for propane cylinders

NEW DOT Re-certification NOW 10 yrs after date of mfg. stamped on collar (EFFECTIVE Jan. 23, 2017) Visual inspection ----still good for 5 yrs Proof Pressure Test...was good for 7 yrs---NOW good ...

Another reason to just exchange the portable ones in. Even if I am getting ripped of on the propane amount. I only use about 2 - 3 tanks a year. At 20 dollars for exchange it's not worth the hassle of re-certification.

Or, if I have the time I just fill them at home out of the big tank on the barn.
