I'm looking for the day when all phones are disabled in vehicles and it is coming sooner than most realize. I have lost count of the number of times I have almost been in head on collisions on 2 lane or non divided roads in the last 5 to 10 years. Just the other day it happened 3 times on a 30 mile commute to work. I drive roughly 60K to 70K miles per year. Strange how those situations were not noticed nearly as much back in the 80's and 90's. The phone function is one thing.....texting is 1000 times worse.
In almost every case I have seen where the opposing car is over the yellow line coming right at me I've noticed a trend. The driver is a female most of the time. It's usually the same young girl who rides my bumper for 10 miles while I am maintaining a semi safe distance from the tri axle holding up the flow in front of me on some road where a passing zone does not exist. I guess that gets you somewhere in less time, don't know, never tried it. It's **** annoying.
