Well, how about the times you're behind some moron at a red light and he's so busy with his cell phone he doesn't notice that the light has changed? You tap your horn to let him know it is now okay to proceed, and he gets all upset like it's your fault. I've had people flip me off and get pretty vocal when I tried to let them know the light had changed to green while they were yakking away.
Click and Clack had the right idea: "Hang up and drive".
Like I said, annoying but not a safety issue. They’ve just replaced the annoying guys who insisted on taking their cars out of gear even when they’re first in line and the light is due to change. Then they act all surprised as they clutch in, shove it in gear and then clutch out. Thankfully automatics have made that almost a thing of the past.
Besides, there’s already an impeding law for those guys.
LOL
I drive a stick and it comes out of gear at every stop light and most stop signs.
When the light changes, I clutch in place in gear, and clutch out and get rolling usually before the car next to me with an automatic!
It is all about reaction time and comprehension of what is needed to get rolling. Driving while easy for many, many others have trouble processing the tasks need to operate a car safely.
Yes, what a complete non issue. I do the same thing. Has zero impact on taking off from a traffic signal. Not sure how not paying attention has anything to do with the type of transmission.
