"Nazis" show the dangers of gov't run amok without protections for Citizens. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Police serve their masters, they don't make the law. When I speak about "police" or "gov't" encroaching upon the private Citizen, I am not speaking about individual LEOs and specific persons. I am referencing the tug of war that was established by our Constitution to keep Rule of Law and Rights of Citizen in proper balance.
"Show me your papers" is one of the most common ways used to invoke the issues that warn against losing individual freedoms and privacy. Similar to using, "This isn't Russia" or some other common phrase.
In no way did I intend that as an individual slight or one against professionals doing their jobs. If it came out that way, then I owe the apology.
As for LEOs (and other emergency personnel) using their phones...they absolutely should not be prohibited from doing so, if they can do so in a safe manner under certain circumstances. But I believe individual private Citizens should be afforded the same respect.
IMHO, these "absolutes" in law are mistakes and are ripe for abuse by many parties.
Carry on.
