Many people are not diy so they want a product with dealer service.

Champion wasn't as common at the time but Generac was and they were the laughing stock of the shop. You will see old Hondas for sale that are still worth something and parts are still available but not much with others. Hondas biggest problem seems to be that it's the one that is a favorite for being stolen. I bet those dirt bags dont sit around and ooh and aah about snatching them a Champion tonight.

If a person does want to take their Champion in for whatever reason, where do they take it?

The things you just described can be done by any small engine repair shop. The same small engine repair shop you are taking your Honda into. Spark plugs, oil, carburetors, and pull rope are all universal, just like on your lawnmower and snow blower.

I would bet most RV Owners know how to drain the old gas and change the oil in their generator themselves.

Bottom Line, regardless of what is wrong with it, if you choose to have someone do it for you, you can take it to the same place you take your Honda. Done with this silliness, Have a Good Day.

We serviced all brands but the people who bought from my buddies John Deere dealer were given priority over others. They are called a customer not a shopper who buys lesser products elsewhere

Glad I have a Champion then. I don't have to worry about waiting in line while they give preferential treatment and fix that long line of Hondas first.

I bought a Ryobi 2000 based on price and spec sheet. It did not come close to meeting the spec's.

I have a Honda 2000 that starts my 13.5 k a c with a starting capacitor, in Eco mode.

There is a big change coming in refrigeration with the use of permanent magnet variable speed compressors that largely eliminate the starting surge.

Welcome to our "Throwaway" world. If you are talking about major repairs, we are not going to pay $500 for a complete rebuild on a product that can be purchased new for $499. Any small engine repair shop should be able to perform minor repairs on these more or less generic engines. Carburetors, recoils starters, etc. are cheap and readily available to the home repairman.
