Agreed, the device is huge in a tow vehicle. Depending on the configuration of the windshield and dash there literally can be no place to mount it. This mount which uses an available cup holder might be an option for some cars. It works good in my Camry.

Like I said, the screen works great on "large motor-homes" because you can mount them low below the dash, out of direct sun light, but not so good when mounted above the dash in tow vehicles.

I have the Rand McNally for two years and found it to be an excellent GPS. THAT BEING SAID HOWEVER; it utilizes a LCD screen, unlike other units that use a LED screen, which makes it extremely hard to see in the daylight. Now it may work OK in a Class A motor-home where you can bury it below the dash, but in a tow vehicle (pick-up truck), it is almost impossible to read the screen due to outside glare, even utilizing the sunshade and anti-glare screen filters that RM sells as accessories. Obviously Good Sam didn't bother to do any of their highly advertized "Member Testing" on this product before they lent their name to it.

I Have the 7725 and it has worked fine.

I'm in the market for a RVND7720 myself. I wish it had Bluetooth, comparing it to Magellen and Garmin dezil I like the Rand better so far.

I think most people have said that its a decent unit and many feel its much the same as the 7720 from Rand and others say go with the Garmin DEZL 760 if your looking for a high end unit.

I have the unit and have no issues with GPS signal acquisition. This is essentially the same as the 7720. I'd encourage you to go to Amazon and read the reviews of the 7720.

Don't know about the GS branded model, but we bought the Rand McNally model and used it for ONE trip from Boise to San Antonio and then sold it on craigslist. We found it to be very unfriendly to use, slow to react to change and then it would try its best to turn you around and return to the previous route, for as long as 30 minutes......Not something RVers need to put up with, when there are ones that work better and are much more user friendly.
