Did you get a work slip when you took the trailer in? (I hope)
If not, drive to the place and get one NOW.
You say you went to KY to buy the trailer. Correct? But you give no hint where it is now. That would help, but it does not matter in the case of what I am going to say.
The firm that currently is in possession of the unit is responsible and I don't care what they tell you.
Now, here comes the important parts. It is a FEDERAL LAW, that if a purchased item is non-functional during the warranty period, then the manufacture's warranty period will be held until the item is returned to the purchaser in fully functional condition.
So, the dealer can hang on to the unit, but make sure he knows about this law that applies to ALL CONSUMER PRODUCTS and does include damage to and product expirations that may have occurred during the warranty period that the unit was in the repairing facility's possession.
Do us a real big favor, Go Get him and stick it to him.
