Oh my gosh I knew you guys could help me. This info you gave me is GOLDEN and I couldn't have gotten most of it by scouring the internet in the next two weeks before we leave! To answer one of the questions....it was a special deal from one of the big rental companies so that is why we are flying all the way to Chicago for our first trip. Now I see that wasn't the best idea, but its a done deal, no turning back. It is a 30 foot motor home not a trailer.
I thought that we would be all set and good to go with a never been used motorhome, but a couple of you have suggested otherwise. That would not be cool if something broke, because we have a deadline and have to be back by a certain date with the motorhome company. Now I'm worried.
Regarding the steep grades, thank you for that info. My oldest baby gets very car sick and we were going to avoid the mountains if we possible could. Sounds like I need to go on your forum for travel route help, because we are totally open and just want to visit some fun places that we would never make a destination for on a plane.
THANK YOU, this forum and group of people are now my favorites. I would have never thought of some of these tips on here. (Bill, that was a great list!)
I think I am a bit more nervous now than before i wrote on here, but I prefer to be reality based, not bring my kids along with my head in the clouds and naive and dangerous, so that's a good thing.
