The idea of camping RV's in parking lots is new to me. I saw them in a Wal-Mart parking lot today. Mostly older, beat up looking rigs.
When we were young we had no money so we stayed in the back of the truck or in tents. Buying an RV to save money has never occurred to me. obviously I am behind the times. I like the idea that people want to stay in rest areas, KOAs, and Wal-Marts. Then I will never run into them. To each his own.
I stay in rest areas, Cracker Barrels etc, because I’m far too considerate to roll in near midnight and out again at zero-dark-thirty and disturb folks who spent good money on a site in a campground and are trying to get some R & R time in.
At 8.5 mpg my motorhome is not nearly as efficient as my several other vehicles, nor even my several aircraft, it costs more per day in gas than a decent hotel room would so it’s not about the money.
I like the idea you’ll never run into me too.
To each their own indeed.......
