because I’m far too considerate to roll in near midnight and out again at zero-dark-thirty and disturb folks who spent good money on a site in a campground and are trying to get some R & R time in.
Don't hurt yourself when you fall off your high horse. Not everyone pulls into campgrounds late because they want to. I'm certainly not going to pay for a campground and not use it because I am running late. Experienced campers understand that sometimes spit happens. While I might be the "inconsiderate" one who pulls in late, YOU might be the inconsiderate one taking up a spot in a rest area that a truck driver TRULY needs.
