Being the father of teenaged girls and a 12 yo boy, I think I am slightly qualified to respond. First my girls would have been mortified if a 12yo boy walked into the girls bathhouse. They are VERY modest, and would have been quite upset, as would I. As for the 12 yo if he is incapable of showering, and taking care of himself in the mens room, other arrangements should have been made. My 12 yo goes to the mens room by himself at the ballgame, or race track, any camp ground will be less "festive" then that. If there is concern about others in there with him, wait out side the door of the mens room and listen to what is going on. Trust me all we are doing in there is taking care of our business and leaving, it is not a hang out place to do our nails, and yack.
