No TV Coverage!
Why do Tom Hanks, Opra Winfrey, and Paula Deen get national TV coverage about their Type 2 Diabetes. When I was diagnosed, all that was said was "tough".

The theory always was that putting a face everybody recognizes on a medical issue helps the cause, ie: fund raising for research and education, etc.
If one person hears Tom Hanks talking about his diabetes and goes to the Dr with his own symptoms, that's a good thing.
