Why do Tom Hanks, Opra Winfrey, and Paula Deen get national TV coverage about their Type 2 Diabetes. When I was diagnosed, all that was said was "tough".

Got another member of your not-so-popular club over here in Boston! Has anyone ever heard of 1.5 or 3? Since I have lost 70+ pounds, Dr has determined I do not have Type2, but the aforesaid 1.5 or 3...still Diabetes though.
