My general demeanor is "don't rock the boat" and "just get along". There have been many times I wondered why someone said or did what they did so I would try to put myself in their shoes or look at things from their perspective.
If I was this gentlemen I would have simply telephoned the office and asked if the folks that where setting up in my buddies site were staying more than one night. I mean really, is that so unusual that RVers check into a camp site for only one night?
I don't think there was any type of failed communication here. He was talking down to me and after I attempted to respond and he interrupted, I decided not to continue the conversation.
I am confident I made the correct decision by not responding to him due to the final outcome. When he discovered that we were only staying one night and he was unwarranted in his rude intrusion, he never apologized. He simply turned and walked away.
