I am getting paranoid in my old age I guess, I don't use public WiFi anymore. As much as I hate to pay the darn bill every month, we stick with a Verizon MiFi.
I hope that you do understand that a jetpack (or equivalent) is as easily hacked as what you call a "public" wifi. Bottom line is that none of that connectivity is of any importance to serious hackers. They will really not bother with your measly bandwidth in a campground. Sure, can you possibly allow sensitive info? Yep, but at that point it is on you. Don't want information seen by anyone else? Don't post it!
ANYWHERE!
Based on what my son has told me I am much more secure on my Verizon MiFi than at public CG's while doing our banking and other things on line (one of the requirements of being full time). I am sure if a professional hacker wanted to target my MiFi they could figure it out, but at least I should they are on line with my system. Being full time there is no way I feel secure traveling the country using CG wireless internet.
I will follow my son's advise since Cat has him stationed out of their home I.T. office in Peoria and send him all over the world to deal with their computer issues.
