Animal right activities crying that their drone got shot down trying to disrupt a legal hunt in PA.
The New Jersey man who shot down a drone hovering near his teenage daughters.
Or
this one that might clearify the 1946 law (federal airways) when compared to local laws (property rights).
This debate is far from "beating a dead horse". I dare say it has just begun. Does it belong on an RV forum??? You know what goes on in society, goes on at RV parks as well. Might as well discuss it.
EDIT: Not being a hunter, but being inquisitive, I searched for duck hunting. Apperantly, a good distance for shooting at ducks with a shotgun is 40 yds which equals 120 feet if my memory of elementary school is correct (sorry Canadian friends, you'll have to convert-I can't do it). While I assume the range of those BB's is a bit more, I think a kill shot at the 200'+ mark would be very, very lucky. Since most people don't shoot directly overhead, we also have to add the distance created by the "angle".
In the case above (as seems to be the case claimed by most drone owners who have been shot down) the "Pilot" claims to have been flying at 200'. Nowhere near houses, well overhead, not within snooping range, etc.. Shall we call the range 240' (80yds). Double what is called a good duck shot.
D@mn that Kentucky Hillbilly is a wicked shot.------Just saying.
