Drones illegal

Your in California, this surprises you? :)

They were banned in National Parks last year.

I expect the restrictions on use to increase quite a bit as complaints mount. And that will be mostly because of the minority who use no common sense when flying them.

I wasn't aware of the National Park restriction but I'm in favor of the ban.
Drones are very cool and some of the videos I've seen are amazing, but it's only a matter of time before some idiot takes down a plane or helicopter and kills someone.

Personally, I think they should be banned everywhere. The last thing you want to do with is spend the money to buy a second one if you fly the first one over my property and family areas.

Yup - agree totally here. We have enough environmental damage going on without dumping toy aircraft into inaccessible areas in our parks, or scaring wildlife, or destroying habitat.

I guess they are not illegal yet but do have flight restrictions...

The NO FLY zone for drones here around DC went from 15 miles to 30 miles which now includes most of northern VA... ALot of presents under the tree can't be used at home now except inside the house I guess...

Like I commented on another recent post about this I don't know what I would if one came flying over my house. My first instant would be to shoot it down because it most likely has remote cameras on it. Then someone said it may be a shipment from AMAZON haha...

Same thing went with the model airplanes not too many years back...

Some of these drones are perfect for use by terrorists. They can easily carry 1/4 lb of a high-grade explosive. Heck yes, we want more protection.

Totally agree. And for the same reasons I am all for a ban in all state parks, and state and national forests.

By this logic, ALL motorized vehicles should be banned from ALL use, as they cause way more damage than any drone.

In fact, PEOPLE should be banned, as they are the cause of ALL damage.
