The misuse and abuse of drones will be greatly reduced when the means of quickly and positively identifying the operator of the offending device is developed.
I can imagine something like a smartphone app that could be used to take a picture of a drone and read a barcode or receive an RF signal from the drone that can be traced to its owner.
IMHO, all drones with video capabilities should be required to display and/or transmit a unique identifier, just like any manned aircraft is. There should be no objection to this if the operator has nothing to hide.
