nothing to do with rv,s eye floaters a cure?

we camp a good bit travel both ways to arizona, but lately I,ve had a lot of eye floaters some big ones at times, time to check them out, but just wondered if any body has found a a way to fix them on there own,
  • I've had floaters all my life. Sometimes bigger than usual. Sometimes more numerous than usual. Had it checked out. Nothing out of the ordinary. But please have yours checked out.
  • Make an appointment with a good opthamologist(sp?) as soon as possible, you don't want to mess around waiting for things to improve! Good Luck!
  • A rather large floater surfaced in my eye several months ago. I just had a thorough eye exam by an excellent eye surgeon. He gave me a good bill of health and said it is up to me if I want to deal with the floater or not. Large floaters can be "broken up" with lasers, a non-invasive process, if I so chose. I decided against that process for the present as I have come to adjust to the floater for now.

That is the info from Escapees magazine.I have no connection to or personal knowledge of this facility. Says that not all floaters are correctable by the procedure. Also said that procedure was not covered by insurance. Best of luck in getting your issues resolved.
  • Thanks for asking the question ~~ Now I too have somewhere to go look. Figgured I was just doomed forever. Both mother & aunt retinal separation ~~ so did their father. Lost rt.eye car accident 1976. Hoping to keep this one as long as I can.

  • Sudden, big floaters can be a big problem. It can indicate a detached retina, which, if not fixed immediately will cause blindness. If you have lots of flashes when moving the eye, it is another indication it could be serious.

I know, because it happened to me. First, saw flashes. Regular eye doctor said he couldn't see anything. Then saw lots of dots floating. Went to emergency room and had a cracked retina --- emergency surgery. That operation didn't completely fix the problem, and a large crack and detachment opened up. Doctor said, "Now you will have a surgery surgery. I was literally moved ahead of everyone else in the emergency room right to the operating room, where they put me out and did the job. During recovery, I was as sick as sick can be -- something to do with the eye.

Don't mess around with this problem. See someone immediately, especially if you are very near sighted, which seems to be a indicator of future detached retinas. Both my sister and I have had the same problem.

Summary: I had floaters, then flashes, then hundreds of dots (I am assuming blood cells), then a dim area of the vision. If you have anything like that, get moving.
  • Interesting you ask. There is an article in the current issue of Escapees magazine about someone who went to Florida and had laser surgery to get rid of their floaters.
  • M'lady has the issue. Detaching vitreous membrane. She has been told there isnt much they can do for it, that eventually it will clear some. but she will likely have a detached retina at some point in time and they will repair then.
In her case it's worse because she has an extremely bad astigmatism, which makes the problem harder to deal with. Get it checked, if it has to do with retina damage, the longer you wait, the more damage that can occur.
Hopefully yours isnt as bad as hers.
