"We" always knew, he was really only looking for confirmation (if there was any) of the choice he had already decided upon.
Most learned, sooner or later, to simply agree with his choice and let it go at that, or do as "fla-gypsy" indicated.
Ya can lead a horse to water (or an RV).....etc...;)
