Oil Filter Question

Why? I have a Mazda that has over 300,000 on it. Does not use oil and runs like a top. No fancy synthetic oils or fancy filters. I bet the filter is somewhere around 3" long. :E

Unless you're doing extended drains there should not be that much contamination in the oil to clog up a factory filter.
