Observed this weekend...18 wheeler operator using a metal rod , strolled around his rig... whacked each tire. No TPMS, no digital tire pressure gauge. The man makes a living driving big rigs. Hm...

I am a firm believer in the use of electronics to monitor systems and use them myself, -- however--
There is no substitute for direct observation. I always take a walk around when I stop. Eyes, ears, touch and smell will sometimes give you an indication of a problem long before you start to get notified by electronics.
