old school observation.... tire whacker

One thing that has not been mentioned is while thumping the tires you look at the wheel studs and check for signs of any coming loose, cracked wheels etc.

I have always thumped my tires and always will.
Now adays people need all these gagets like tire pressure monitors computer programs for engine paramiters crash avoidance systems, gps that steer you wrong. What ever happend to good driving habits and common sense maintenance!
