Unless people are born Tire Whisperers, it probably takes a bit of time to acquire tire thumping expertise. So while you're an amateur thumper, do you have to drive with an expert thumper?

Good morning. For anyone with a musical ear it's just completely obvious. Whack a tire and listen. Whack the other tire and listen. 7 or 8 pounds difference is completely obvious. In which case you would get out the gauge and check it. I think there is a misconception that we tire whackers are in some way checking our pressures. We are not. We are simply listening for a difference. It is meant as a quick check only and in no way replaces regular checking of air pressures.
