Reminds me of a trip to Yosemite many years ago. As I recall, the road in from the west was a LONG one- way loop. I pulled over to take some photos and met a guy who seemed to know all the best places to shoot from. I thought he was a local. Turned out he was in a TC and his wife and MIL were in the cab. They stopped for some reason and he got out to take some pictures. You guessed it – they didn’t know he’d gotten out and left him. He had been there for hours and had plenty of time to find the good spots.
I offered to take him in but he was afraid they might be making the loop back and he’s miss them. He described the TC and I looked for it when I got in but never found it. I often wonder if they ever got back to get him or whether he’s still wandering around out there.:)
