To all of you out there that check and inflate tires.
Get a tire chuck that stays on the valve stem they sell them at places for big rigs the long one, then get a minimum of four feet of hose to attach between the tire chuck and the gauge and valve.
Once you have everything set up and ready to check air pressure, attach the chuck to the tire read the gauge, if you need to inflate move along the side of the RV, in other words you are stepping away from the danger zone the wheel well will contain the tire tread and the distance from the center will avoid the side wall from ruining your day.
By extending the spacing of the chuck and the valve and having the tire in the wheel well you are creating a make shift tire cage, granted it is not the best thing in the world but it saves having the tire blow in your face.
You might need to purchase small valve extenders, 1/2 inch work OK for the class C and the class A have commercial tires that do not need the extenders, always stand towards the center of the RV or coach you want the strongest part next to you, specially on the C class.
Be safe out there

Good advice. That's how I fill my tires.
