I could see success in 10,000 mile intervals running a quality oil but only under perfectly ideal operating conditions. By that I mean start the car and take a long drive at reasonable highway speed’s without temperature extremes or stop and go traffic. My daily commute is far from ideal. I do a coldstart 2 mile loop to drop my son off at school. Then about an hour later I drive 2.5 miles to work. The car then sits for 10 Hours, followed by a 2.5 mile ride home.
My oil rarely reaches full operating temperature and has no chance of burning off any impurities. I change my oil rather frequently, but it takes me 15 minutes and cost me about $20 in materials
