Not to come down on these folks but I've never understood paying $$$ for a house and then paying $$$ for an RV yet not having the space to store said RV on your own property?
LOL. It's a California thing I guess. We have small lots, HOAs, city parking restrictions, community parking restrictions, insane neighbors, etc etc.
Many home lots surrounding this storage facility are 6k-8k SQFT some as small as 4k SQFT. When you put a 2-3k SQFT house on that lot it doesn't leave a lot of room for RV parking if the restrictions above don't apply. "Well, just buy a house on a bigger lot". On average a house on a quarter acre (if you can find one) within 20 miles of that facility will cost over $1,000,000. Then there are those people that rent or live in condominiums because it costs a half million dollars + to get into a single family home in that area. They can't very well add RV parking to a rental or condo. Even if you own a lot large enough you have the problems above.
That's why we do silly things like pay for RV Storage.
