- 72cougarxr7ExplorerI have a great local dealer I try and give a shot at before I order on line. Many of the little every day items like caulking it is cheaper at my local dealer than online plus shipping.
When I needed a water heater, it was much cheaper online than local though.

That is why I always check availability and prices on several on-line sites before placing my order. I have never found any of my local dealers to be cheaper and the closest one is 20+ miles away.
I had the exact opposite experience about a year ago. My Valterra dump valve was cheaper at our local dealer than on Amazon and comparable to anywhere else and they had it on the shelf.
It's always good to shop around.
On major purchases I always check:
Availability
Price
Shipping Chargers

It's always good to shop around. - fj12ryderExplorer IIINot fair to compare Amazon to Camping World. :) I don't recall what items I was looking at but ended up buying them from Etrailer for some, and PPL for some others, and I think RV Warehouse, or RV Wholesale.
Amazon is pretty good for some things, but you'll overpay if you think they are the only place to buy parts and don't shop around. - WILDEBILL308Explorer IIMy problem is I am now in (same day free shipping) zone.
Howard and Peggy, you haven't priced Camping World for their cheap prices have you? Camping World wanted over $235.00 for a replacement fan motor for AC unit $84.00 on Amazon with free shipping. What "stuff" were you looking at?
Bill - fj12ryderExplorer IIIJust make sure you check around. Amazon is good for some things, and not so good for others. I thought they were kind of high for the RV stuff I was looking at, but YMMV.
- TucsonJimExplorer IIWe ordered a Valtera valve from Amazon and it worked perfectly for our application.
Jim - camperforlifeExplorerAmazon is a great source for rv parts.
- Houston_RemodelExplorerWhen we purchased our first RV the forums gave me a $500 laundry list of items I "needed". When picking up the RV, and shopping at the dealership, about half the items were cheaper at the store, and half were cheaper on Amazon.
- jparker66ExplorerThanks. I appreciate your comments and will be ordering online
